Welcome to the Disney/Pixar Blog Hop!

I'm so excited that this day is finally here!  Seems like so long ago that Shawn and I first started discussing the plans to have a Disney/Pixar Blog Hop!  The response to our hop during the planning stages has been phenomenall!  We have had so many people asking to participate and be a blog hop stop!  We wanted to keep this on the small side, not to overwhelm.  I hope you enjoy what you see today and leave some blog love for all of our participants!  I think there just might be another Disney/Pixar hop planned in the near future!  You should have arrived here from Shawn's Blog who was the first stop on our hop.  If you have just happened to come across my blog be sure to stop back by Shawn's Blog so you don't miss her project and the awesome blog candy she's giving away!

...and now, on with the show!

First up is a layout made for our pictures from the Finding Nemo Musical at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  LOVE this show and the music from it!  If you go to the Animal Kingdom be sure not to miss this show.  You will want to arrive early and get in line at least 30 minutes prior to the show time because although the indoor (AIR CONDITIONED) auditorium is quite large, it fills up fast!

(sorry for the bad photo...I tried every angle to not get the reflection in the prismatic paper at the bottom)

I used the Best of Pixar Cricut cartridge to make this layout.  The paper at the bottom for the waves was Prisma Paper by Best Occasions.  I used the same paper pack for Nemo and Marlin both cut at 4".  Dory was cut from the Shiny Paper pack by Best Occasions at 5 1/2".  The "Finding Nemo" was cut at 3 3/4".  The background paper is Core'dinations and I lightly sanded it in small circular motion to give it a little bit of definition.

I used my Chomas Creations mini gel pens and holder to create this adorable card!  A big "thank you" goes out to Amy for sending the pens and holder my way!  You will be able to check out her blog and her amazing products and creations at the end of this hop!  I was so excited when my stuff from Amy arrived because I had this idea for a card!

I just used a plain white 5X7 card by Recollections and the Mickey Ears were layed out on my Gypsy from the Mickey Font Cricut cartridge.  "I'm all ears" was designed from A Childs Year Cricut cartridge.  I used Chomas Creations mini gel pens to color in the letters.  The ribbon is Bo Bunny and the Mickey gem embellishment is by EK Success.

This cover page I made for my album was done using Reminisce products that are being featured as part of my blog candy!  This castle was made from this...

This is the Real Magic line from Reminisce Build Your Own Castle!  Someone is going to be lucky enough to win a page of their own to build along with some other great Reminisce papers and coordinating stickers!  I took the Reminisce background patterned Firework Spectacular paper and used it as my base.  Before starting to put the castle right down on the patterned paper, I decided to put it together on a plain piece of black cardstock.  After I finished putting the castle together, but before I added the flags and banners, I cut out around the edge of the castle so I had a nice sturdy piece to put onto my page.  I used a piece of black Colorbok textured cardstock and ripped it before adhering to the bottom of the firework paper.  I thought it gave the project more of a realistic look with the dark ground and fireworks in the background.  I used some pop dots behind the castle to give it some dimension and make it pop out from the fireworks.  After I got the castle in place where I wanted it on the page, I went and added the flags and banners.  The die cut stickers are also from the Real Magic Line by Reminisce.  I used an "O" and the small circles from the percentage symbol for the Mickey head and ears!

Jim was "That Guy!"

We love the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor at the Magic Kingdom!  The boys always come up with jokes to text and hope to have theirs picked to be used during the show.  I love all of the crowd interaction during this show...makes each time you go unique and never completely the same twice.  During this trip Jim was picked to be "That Guy!!!"  If you've never been to the show, this won't mean much to you...but if you have been you know exactly what kind of torture he was put through!  hee hee

The background papers are by DCWV (again...thanks to the lovely Michigan gloomy weather the colors are drab.  This paper is a very pretty shade of purple even though it looks bluish or grey from these photos) and the paper used for the Monsters Inc Logo and Mike Wazowski was Pearlescent paper by Colorbok.

The Monsters Inc logo was cut at 4 1/2"

Mike was cut at 4"

These little felt mini monsters are from CTMH and were perfect for this LO!

The "I was that guy" sticker was given to Jim after the show finished.  I snatched it out of his hand before he could even look at it and tucked it safely away for the scrapbook!  :)

Parker also had his joke picked from text messages sent before the show!  His joke...  "What do you get when you cross a pine tree and an apple tree?  Pineapples!"  It was a good show for the Allore family!   We were stars in the spotlight!

So you know what tomorrow is right?????  Can you believe it's finally here?  I feel like I've been talking about this Disney/Pixar Blog Hop FOREVER and now it is only a day away!!!!  So I better see you back here tomorrow!!!  Have a fabulous Friday!

....and guess what???  I was emailing back and forth with Marlo from Contain Ya Crafts late last night and I just checked my inbox again this morning and she sent me an email letting me know that she had just typed and printed my mailing address label for my...wait for it....

Sympathy card using Chomas Creations engraving tip!

Okay, it is another crappy, gloomy day in Michigan so these are the best pictures I could get!  The first one is taken without a flash and looks really drab, the second two were taken with a flash to show the colors a little better, but those look washed out!  UGH!  Bring on the summer sun!

This was the first project I've done using Amy's engraving tip for the Cricut and I am in love!!!  These pictures really don't do this card justice!

I used paper from the Chocolate Box line from Core'dinations (the brown really is a rich shade of chocolate and the green on the reverse side that comes through with the engraving is a very warm shade) to "cut" this image from the  Paper Lace Cricut cartridge at 4".  I selected to "cut" 3 times on my Gypsy when prompted to load my mat to get a good engraving on the paper for the green to show through.  The background printed paper is from the Dot, Stripes and Plaids DCWV stack.  The brown gathered trim (same Kaye used on her pillow!) is from Hobby Lobby and I couldn't resist adding that K&Company fabric covered brad because the design on it matches the cut from Paper Lace and the colors matched up perfectly!

I can't wait to explore some more with the engraving tip from Chomas Creations!  Hopefully I will not have a reason to send this card anytime soon...

Just 2 more days until the Disney/Pixar Blog Hop!!!!

Wait a minute...I thought WE were Mr. & Mrs. Incredible?!?!

We always have pictures taken with some of The Incredibles at the Animation of Disney at Hollywood Studios so I was super excited when I saw that they had "Incredible" cuts on the Best of Pixar cartridge!  This was a super simple layout, but love how it turned out!

You cannot tell very good from the picture, but the paper I used has a shiny coat to it...not sparkly, but more of a glassy shine to it if that makes sense.  It is by Best Occasions and used to be available at WalMart.  It is no longer available and I am coveting what I have left!

Thought this would be a good warm up post for what is to come this weekend!  Don't forget about the Disney/Pixar Blog Hop on Saturday!!!

There is going to be some FABULOUS blog candy up for grabs!  I have multiple giveaways here on my blog including a cartridge and I know for sure that there is going to be a Scrap n Tote AND a new Scrap n Easel up for grabs out on the blog hop trail!!!!  Click on my sidebar pictures of the Scrap n Tote and Scrap n Easel for more information!

Happy the weekend is in sight.  I hate wishing my time away, but these school weeks seem to get longer and longer as the school year goes on.  I am so ready for this weekend because we have NO PLACE we HAVE to be and NOTHING scheduled to do!  I see some blog hopping and creating on my weekend calendar!  Wahoo!

Today didn't go as planned...

I didn't end up getting as much done today (creating wise) as I wanted to.  I did get a card finished using my Chomas Creations engraving tip that I am very happy with, I just haven't taken pictures or uploaded them for posting yet.  I was able to work on some posts for a couple of blog hops I'm participating in and actually hit the post now button on accident so a few of you may have gotten a sneak peak of those before I realized my mistake and deleted them!  Now I have to rewrite the posts all over again!  UGH!  I will take a picture of the card I made tonight and post it tomorrow morning after I get the boys off to school.

I just closed up shop for the night because American Idol is on and it needs my full attention!  OMGoodness...Steven Tyler just walked up and hugged Jacob!  Wow...I wish I was Jacob!  lol

Hope you are all having a fantastic night!

Chomas Creations in the house!

I have been a long time follower of Amy's and have wanted to try out her products for a long time!  If you haven't been by Amy's blog and do not know about Chomas Creations then you are missing out!  Last week Amy sent me out 2 sets of her mini gel pens with a pink gel pen holder!  When she offered to send them to me I couldn't resist taking the opportunity to order myself an engraving tip to try out as well!  I have already tried out the pens and holder and I LOVE THEM!  I made a card for the Disney/Pixar Blog Hop that I will be sharing with you on Saturday.  Today I am going to try out some things with my engraving tip and see how it goes.  I've picked up some different things to try the engraving tip on and I am anxious to see how they turn out.

Here are the mini gel pens and holder

This is the engraving tip

I am hoping that Amy is going to be able to join us for one of our upcoming weekend crops and do some demonstrations of her products for all my scrapping friends!  When that day comes (if not before) I will be adding the Chomas Creations embossing tip to my arsenal!

Please stop by and check out Amy's Blog - Chomas Creations and take a look around at all the amazing layouts and cards she has on display.  You can also find some helpful tutorials and videos on all of her products to help you decide what will fit your needs the best.

I also picked up some more buttons and ribbon yesterday (and maybe just a couple of stacks of pretty paper and maybe a few cute stamps...) for some cards that I have in my head.  I already had a ton of buttons and ribbon...just not all of the right stuff for what I want to create!  I have some ideas for cards minus my Cricut *gasp*!!!  I see some sunshine... rainbows... caterpillars and flowers coming to a blog post soon!

If I get something that turns out today I will be posting it later.  I'm still in the learning process with these new-to-me tools so I hope you will stay tuned.  I guess Mother Nature forgot that we've moved onto spring, because looking outside it clearly is back to winter!  Hope this is short lived...I am so sick of the cold and snow!  I was crossing my fingers for a snow (ice) day, but it looks like it isn't bad enough (yet) for that to happen.  So I will be getting the boys up soon and heading off to school.  After bagel delivery I get to go on a field trip to the recycling center with Tanner for a few hours.  I should still have some time this afternoon to work on some of the projects that are dying to bust out of my imagination!  Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Thank you Freda from Scrap-a-rama!!!

Okay, I need to apologize to Freda for just getting this posted and a big "thank you" sent out to her!  I have been so busy with everything that I just made it to the post office today to pick up the wonderful package she sent me!  I won the Summer Vacation Cricut seasonal cartridge from her blog Scrap-a-rama back at the beginning of the month.  This package has been sitting at the post office since the 10th waiting for me!!!  Not only did she send me the Summer Vacation cartridge, but she added some other little goodies including some Pop Dots ( a girl can NEVER have enough Pop Dots!)  and two set of awesome tags!

I had to take extra pictures of the tags so you could see them laid out individually...they are by Lost & Found and they are awesome!  Freda, thank you so much for the fantastic package and adding the extra goodies!  I'm sorry it took me so long to pick it up and let you know that it arrived!

So...the auction is over and I am very happy to say that we are the proud owners of one mosiac tiled frog vase!  Gotta love that you do all the work and then have to pay $75 to bring it home!  Of course there was another parent from the classroom that kept bidding against me!  I finally just stood back there next to the clipboard waiting for time to elapse so nobody else could write their name down!  lol  Tanner was very excited when he woke up this morning to find that we had the vase!

The Yellow Jacket painted canvas ended up going for $100 and we got the whole $500 to get Parker's teacher parading down the hallway in a dress to I Feel Pretty from Westside Story!   My friend Kim won my Thirty-One tote filled with 10 of my handmade cards!  I was so happy that one of my friends who is also a crafter won them...other crafters tend to appreciate things like that more.

Don't forget about the Disney/Pixar blog hop this weekend!  The actual hop is Saturday, March 26th, but I already have a day two post for Sunday prepared which will be a tutorial on how I make the Mickey head tie dyed T-Shirts.  I know a lot of you have been waiting a long time for that.  So stay tuned this weekend!!!
