16 and still no wheels!

Here is the card that I made for Armen's 16th birthday!  He turned 16 yesterday and we had a great time celebrating with them on Sunday at Benihana's!  Yummmmmmm!  After dinner we went to their house for presents and dessert!  Armen, Tanner and I had cheesecake!  The rest of the group had lava cake and ice cream.  It was a great day and a great reason for a celebration!  I remember the first time I saw Diane carrying Armen into the room in his baby car seat like it was yesterday!  He's huge now and nobody will be carrying him anywhere!  lol

I was originally thinking of doing a "16" shaped card for him, but I was going through some of my handbooks the other day just looking and saw this car shape on the Graphically Speaking cartridge.  When I saw that the car didn't have wheels a card idea hit me!  I designed this card on my Gypsy.  First thing I did was take one car at 5 1/2", then added another car to the cutting mat at 5 1/2" and used the hide/contour feature to get rid of all the extra cuts and make it so the back of the card was one solid piece then flipped it before welding it to the front of the card.  I also made a duplicate copy of the solid car piece which I cut from a solid piece of black cardstock to use as the backing for the inside of the card behind the front of the car.  The "16" was dropped right into the design so that it cut out of the hood of the car.  The "16" is from the Birthday Bash cartridge.  The car was cut from Best Occasions Shiny paper pack and the paper used for the headlights was Best Occasions Prismatic paper pack.  I'm telling you...I love these different packs of Best Occasions paper that I have and I don't know what I am going to do when I run out of my stash since Wal-Mart no longer carries it!!!!  I even tried writing to the company and they said that was something they made strictly for Wal-Mart and is no longer available.  *sad face*  Anyways....on the inside of the card it said "...and still no wheels!"

I need to get another blog hop candy sneak peak ready for you guys.  I'm still trying to decide which of the goodies to give away for the Spring Blog Hop on Friday and what to pick from my bag of surprises for the All About the Green Blog Hop taking place on Saturday and Sunday!  Stay tuned!  I hope to be back later with another post.  The boys have the day off of school for teacher in-service day today so I am giving them a free day to do whatever they want and I get to do some creating!  Horray for me!  I have a couple of cards I need to work on for upcoming guest designer spots, so exciting!  Have a terrific Tuesday my friends!
