I'm a Guest Designer for the So Saturday Challenge!

Good morning!  Today I am being featured over at Card Creations & More by C for her So Saturday Challenge!  I was tickled pink when Christina contacted me and asked me if I would be interested!  The challenge for this Saturday is to make either a tri-fold or Z-fold card.  I was in a Z-fold card making rut probably a year and a half ago, so it was nice revisiting!  I added some additional embellishments this time with a scalloped edge and some ribbon.  Have a look!

I used to have a template cut that I used for a cutting guide, but I wasn't able to find it.  The tall end of the card measures 5 1/2" and the short end of the card is 3 1/4".  I simply measure and mark off at 5 1/2" and then on the other end measure and mark off at 3 1/4", then I simply line up the marks on the groove of my paper trimmer and cut across.  I have made a lot of these with double sided paper and that was my plan with this card as well, but when I folded the card up I didn't like how the white inside core of the cardstock looked on the folded edges so I decided to cut a duplicate out of Kraft paper and back the good side of the double paper I had already cut.  The score marks should be made at 3 1/4" in from the short side of the card and at 7" in from the short side of the card.  After you have scored the card go ahead and fold it.

I decided I wanted to add a scalloped edge on this card and since I had two pieces of paper to sandwich between I picked the scalloped edge cut with the holes from the Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge and welded 3 of those together with my Gyspy at 1/2". I cut two of those and attached them back to back.  I adhered the bottom edge of the scallop cut to the back of the red printed paper (by DCWV).  Once I was ready to stick the card front and back together completely, (I left the adhesive off the top edge just for the moment) I took about a yard of ribbon and used my ATG to put ribbon along the entire front and back of the card and simply tucked the ends sandwiched between the front and the back of the card.  Once ribbon was in place, I ran another strip of adhesive from my ATG to give it a good seal on the top of the card.

The cardstock flowers were cut from the Cindy Loo Cricut cartridge at 2 3/4" and 3".  The green silk polka dot flower is by Doodle Bug, the gem in the center is EK Success and the small plastic red flower is frm my stash.  I inked the edges of the cardstock flowers and the scalloped edge trim to give if a little definition.

Thanks again to Christina for inviting me to be her special guest designer!  Be sure to stop by all of the creative ladies on her design team to see what they created for the challenge today starting off with Christina!

Hope you all have a super Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by and for all the sweet comments you always leave!  They are all truly appreciated!
