Sneak peak of auction Item from Parker's classroom!

***********

Here is a picture of the first 3 steps completed on the painted canvas that we are doing in Parker's classroom for our school auction!

I used SCAL to cut the file that was generously provided from Mardenz amazing blog!  If you are looking for a file, go visit her...chances are that she will have it and if not, she may possibly make it for you!    Our school district mascot is the same as the Georgia Tech mascot so this worked out perfectly!

Parker and I did all the work on the yellow jacket together.  We used the freezer paper technique just like is used on creating tshirts!  We cut him at 12".

The kids have been having a blast this week painting the rest of the canvas...adding different layers of two shades of purple as well as the bright yellow.  It is finished and in the display case at the school.  I forgot to snap a picture of it yesterday so I am going to do that today and then I will share the finished project with you!

Please continue to pray for the people of Japan and for those in harms way of the tsunami waves sweeping across the ocean.  Be safe.

  1. The Bee looks great! When I saw the bee it took me back a few years (ok 12 years to be exact! haha) that was my h.s. mascot as well. We were called the Zee Bee's!! hahaha What a great project! Amy :)

  6. Sandy, I don't consider SCAL the darkside! I'm just using my Cricut to it's full potential! You are seeing a lot of projects from me right now using SCAL because of the necessity of the projects I'm working on. It is a great product and it certainly hasn't swayed me from purchasing Cricut cartridges so ProvoCraft has nothing to worry about here.

Judy, yes! I have a 10 (almost 11) year old Parker that is in the 5th grade!

Wait til you see the finished product Kaye!!!!
