Sympathy card using Chomas Creations engraving tip!

Okay, it is another crappy, gloomy day in Michigan so these are the best pictures I could get!  The first one is taken without a flash and looks really drab, the second two were taken with a flash to show the colors a little better, but those look washed out!  UGH!  Bring on the summer sun!

This was the first project I've done using Amy's engraving tip for the Cricut and I am in love!!!  These pictures really don't do this card justice!

I used paper from the Chocolate Box line from Core'dinations (the brown really is a rich shade of chocolate and the green on the reverse side that comes through with the engraving is a very warm shade) to "cut" this image from the  Paper Lace Cricut cartridge at 4".  I selected to "cut" 3 times on my Gypsy when prompted to load my mat to get a good engraving on the paper for the green to show through.  The background printed paper is from the Dot, Stripes and Plaids DCWV stack.  The brown gathered trim (same Kaye used on her pillow!) is from Hobby Lobby and I couldn't resist adding that K&Company fabric covered brad because the design on it matches the cut from Paper Lace and the colors matched up perfectly!

I can't wait to explore some more with the engraving tip from Chomas Creations!  Hopefully I will not have a reason to send this card anytime soon...

Just 2 more days until the Disney/Pixar Blog Hop!!!!

  5. Oh, you could link this lovely creation to:
The ABC Challenge and Crafty Creations Challenges: "Sewing" and "In Stitches", respectively.

I made a masculine card yesterday and found those two challenges. Sympathy cards are the most difficult to make. Yours is truly stunning, and I am sure even more breathtaking IRL. Photos rarely show the true beauty of a creation, but your pic is really good!
