I am up wayyyyy too early this morning. I am usually an early riser, but it was after midnight when I went to bed and I've already been awake for a half an hour and it isn't even 4:30 AM yet. I think it is going to be a very long day. The worst part is I still feel tired and my eyes are aching. Not a good sign. Well at least it will give me plenty of time to do this post, get through my email and check the blogs I follow before the boys wake up!
Craft Edge was awesome enough to not only share a copy of SCAL with me to give away to one of my lucky followers this weekend during blog hopping, but they also sent me my very own copy to learn and play with! I've been doing just that. I've been watching a lot of their video tutorials here >>> Learning to use SCAL (that is for you Leslie!!). I haven't created anything earth shattering yet and I know it will be a long time before I master designing my own stuff, but I do know how to Google and that's half the battle! lol I used Google Images to find this Celtic shamrock that I used for the card below. It is super easy to import an image to SCAL and the tutorial for that is found right here>>> Importing SVG Files
The Celtic shamrock was cut at 4 1/2" from Core'dinations paper and then I matted it to some Recollections Kraft paper and trimmed around the edges to give it a solid background to put against patterned background paper by K&Company. Used some Glue Dots behind the shamrock to lift it off of the card a tad. The stamp is by Studio G and the gingham wired ribbon is from my ridiculous stash of ribbon.
I am entering this card in Crafting with Christina's Challenge #18 St. Patty's Theme Creation.
For my first creation with SCAL I was pretty pleased. I'm looking forward to learning more and tweaking my capabilities of mastering the Sure Cuts A Lot software! Hope you will join me on my journey! Have a magical day!
You can make that card out to me and I'll even provide the self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Great card ...I love that big shamrock!

Awesome shamrock, Melissa! I've been looking at SCAL and at MTC -- most folks say that MTC is much easier to learn. I haven't decided which one I'll purchase yet. Still researching and asking questions!
