18 more days!!!!

We are only 18 days away from my big 40th birthday scrapping weekend bash! Wahooooo!!! I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this! I have friends flying and driving in from all over the country to celebrate and create with me! I cannot wait to spend time with all of them and getting some time to scrap! I have not scrapped one single LO since my last weekend crop in APRIL!!!!! Hence the main reason I haven't updated my blog in so long. I do have a couple projects that I need to get posted on here, but until I can get my pictures from the external hard drive that my hubby has been downloading them to from my camera.....well.....I can't post any pics! :-(

Maybe he will get me that new laptop he's been promising me for the longest time for my birthday and I can get back to sharing!

Fabulous blog to share!

I stumbled across another great scrapping blog today. She has the cutest Paper Dolls Mousekeeters that I fully intend to scraplift! :-) She is also having a great giveaway on her blog for hitting 100 followers! Stop by Scrap Obsess with Jess www.scrapobsesswithjess.blogspot.com

Home from Disney and getting back into the swing of things!

Phew! It's been so long since I've had time to create anything and even longer since I've last posted here! I just finished updating my song list to include some more of my favorite Disney songs to hold me over til our next trip.

I have created a few things during the summer and before the end of the last school year, but I lost my hard drive on my laptop and have no place to upload new pics for the time being. So please be patient with me and keep checking in!

I tried glass etching for the first time back in May and I have to say I was pretty proud how it turned out and will hopefully be able to share photos of it soon.

I also made 4 sets of Mickey head tie dyed tshirts for us to wear on our recent WDW trip and they were a huge hit! We got so many comments on our shirts and had people stopping me to ask me where we had bought them! Made my boys feel very special! I will also be sure to post pics of those when I can!

Hope everyone had a wonderful summer and that you are all getting back into the swing of things with the new school year. I am now the proud Mom of a Kindergartner and a 4th grader! Wow...where does the time go?

Parker as Thomas Jefferson!

Our oldest son, Parker is in the third grade. Every year the third grade at his school does a project they call 'wax museum'. Each child picks a famous person to study their biography and do a report and presentation about. I have to say that even I learned a lot about Thomas Jefferson that I never knew! Parker really got into this assignment and did a fantastic job! We are hoping to make a trip to Virginia during summer vacation to visit Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello.

Here are a few pictures of Parker from yesterday during the school wide presentation. I was so proud of the job he did!!! My wonderful and talented Mother made Parker's awesome costume from scratch without a pattern! Thank God for Grandma's!

One last one!

Oops! Almost forgot another one and it was one of my favorites!

DCWV Glitter Stacks and K&C double sided paper

These papers are perfect for card making and so many of them I didn't want to cut up and 'ruin' the design so I came up with a little plan..... I tried cutting a little template and folding it up to use a ribbon to tie it and I love the way it looked so I picked out a bunch of the different patterned paper and went to town!

Oops! Almost forgot this one!

Super simple, but I like the way it turned out. This is another sheet of the double sided paper in the DCWV Spring Glitter Stack. I sure do love these stacks for making cards!

Just a note!

I wanted to make a little card for Parker's music teacher so I used CDS and JOTS to make this and simply added my "just a note" stamp! I think it turned out really cute!

Wild Card cartridge creations!

I haven't explored the Wild Card cartridge as much as I'd like to, but I love the card with the circle cut in the center! Here are a few of the designs I ended up coming up with using this cartridge!

Creations using Home Decor cartridge!

I didn't think I needed or wanted the Home Decor cartridge and when my Mom ordered me the Mother's Day promo and I ended up with 2 of the Home Decor cartridges....I decided to go ahead and open one of them up and use it! The bird, bee and dragon fly cuts go so good with the papers from the DCWV Spring and Summer Glitter Stacks!

Oh Pooh!

These are the Pooh cards that I created! I have to thank my friend Cindy (snoflak) for inspiring me with the beautiful Pooh card she sent me a couple weeks ago!

Creative juices were flowing!!!

On Tuesday my husband decided to head up north to his Mom's to get some things done around the yard for her. Lucky for me our 4 year old turned on the crocodile tears tears and Daddy ended up taking him too! WAHOOOOO!!!! That meant free time for Mommy!!! They walked out the door at 11:30 AM and by 11:35 AM I was upstairs and seated at my scrapbooking table!
In a 24 hour period I was able to create 26 cards! It was so much fun to be able to sit and create and get so much accomplished!

Here are a few of the cards I finished!

This card I made for our Principal's son who is also Parker's penpal, that is coming home from Iraq next week after a 15 month tour of duty!

More Disney LO's from our August 2008 trip!

This past weekend I went away for a one of my weekend crops that I try to do at least 3 times a year, but this particular crop was even more special because I was able to share it with 3 of my Cricut Board Sisters!!! Cindy (**snoflak**) and her Daughter, Stacie made the drive all the way from Pennsylvania to Michigan! Kim (2bzboyz) drove down from Northern Michigan and my good friend T-Nina (TninaHermann) who has made the trip before, drove in from Indiana! I was so excited to have my friends there to crop with me! I ended up finishing 34 pages...I am post 31 of them here for you (I still need to finish up a little journaling on the other ones). I hope you enjoy! I am so looking forward to our November crop for my 40th birthday where even more of my Cricut Sisters are planning on making the trip to join us!!!

This is my favorite 1 page LO I did over the weekend. The rainbow has a special meaning to us. The family's garden that we were married in had lost their only Daughter a few years prior to our wedding and on our wedding day it was raining and miserable....just before our wedding the rain stopped on the hilltop and a rainbow came out. This picture was taken the day of our 10 year wedding anniversary riding on the monorail on our way back to the Magic Kingdom for dinner. I was so glad I was able to capture the moment.

I did manage to sneak this one WDW Christmas LO in! I am so anxious to start scrapping that trip, I just reallllly need to finish up August first!

This is my favorite 2 page LO of the weekend. I spent over 3 hours trying to get the customized
Donald cut 'just right', but I was really pleased with how it turned out in the end!
