All About the Green Blog Hop - Day 1

**********

If you are looking for the Spring Blog Hop being hosted by Lisa please go here >>>  Lisa's Spring Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 1 of the All About the Green Blog Hop being brought to you by our fabulous hostess Kathryn from Creations with Kathryn! I am excited to be participating in another blog hop with my pink flamingo sisters!  A big thank you goes out to Kathryn for inviting me to join! If you have arrived here from Leah's blog then you are in the right place! If you just happened to stop by my blog and would like to start at the beginning of the hop then please go to Kathryn's blog.  Now on with the show!

Kathryn gave us a lot of leniency on our projects...they could be eco green, or the color green or St. Patrick's Day themed!  I did two different cards for this hop.  Today's card will be featuring my take on an eco green project and the card tomorrow will be for St. Patrick's Day!

I love the meaning behind the Pixar movie Wall-E.  The movie is set somewhere in the ballpark of  800 years in the future and shows what happens to the planet when it isn't taken care of and becomes covered in trash.  Basically the entire human popluation leaves the planet and the only things left behind are the trash compacting robots who are expected to clean everything up.  The robot with a heart in this movie is Wall-E and one day while collecting various pieces of treasure and keepsakes he discovers a seedling growing among the trash and brings it to home with him.  As soon as I saw this cut on the Best of Pixar cartridge I knew I had to make something with it.  So today I share with you my take on the eco side of All About the Green!

Wall-E was cut from the Best of Pixar Cricut cartridge at 4 1/2". I used Core'dinations and Colorbok pearlescent paper to cut and piece together Wall-E. The plain background paper on the card is my new found love Kraft paper from Recollections and the bottom half of the patterned cardstock is from the DCWV Spring Glitter Stack. The "Celebrate" ribbon slide is by Making Memories and is on Offray ribbon. "Life" was a stick pin embellishment by Craft Essentials that I cut the pin part off of and simply glued it onto the paper. I used some pop dots behind Wall-E to give the card a nice dimensional look. I have to say that this is one of my favorite cards I've made. Wall-E is so darn cute!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I hope you will become a follower if you are not already. If you like what you see please come back to visit me real soon! Those of you that are already followers know that I'm normally sporting a Disney dominated song playlist on my blog...I decided to have some fun and make some new playlists to go along with my blog hop themes! Hope you are enjoying it!
Now for the blog candy!  Today's candy is brought to you by Marlo at Contain Ya Crafts who produces both the Scrap N Tote and the soon to be released Scrap N Easel!  For those of you not familiar with her products you should go visit her website Contain Ya Crafts.  You can also view a video of her showing the protype for the Scrap N Easel here >>> Scrap N Easel video.

The item that Marlo is donating for one of you lucky followers is a Scrap N Tote!  You will be able to choose your color, either pink or green (I have the pink one and love it!)

To be eligible for a chance to win a Scrap n Tote please complete these two requirements (good for one comment and one entry):
1. Please leave me a comment on this post.
2. Please become a follower of my blog.

If you would like a second entry for this blog candy, please post about it on your blog and then come back here and leave me second comment with a link to your blog post.

If you would like a THIRD entry for this blog candy, please go to Scrap N Tote's Facebook page and "like" them, leave Marlo a comment letting her know that Melissa at Disney Dreamer Designs sent you and then come back here and leave me a third comment letting me know you did! It is important that you leave new comments for each task you complete.

If you do all that is listed above you should have three comments and three chances to win!

For this candy I am sorry, but shipping will be limited to US or APO addressess due to shipping costs.

You will have until Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 11:59 PM EST to enter. I will use Random org to draw a winner on Monday, March 7, 2011. Winner will have one week to contact me and claim their prize.

Here is a list of all the blogs in order that are participating in this hop. Please feel free to refer back to my blog if you get lost along the way!

Be sure to stop back by tomorrow for Day 2 of the All About the Green Blog Hop!!
Tomorrow's blog candy is going to be a copy of SCAL 2 (Sure Cuts A Lot)!!!

Your next stop on the hop is Jen Scrapping at the McCalley House! Be sure to stop by and show her some love!

Thanks for stopping by and have a magical day!

Too cute! I just bought that cartridge but had no clue who Wall-E is. Since DS is now 25, I don't keep up with all the Disney/Pixar movies. I'm sure one of my little great nephews or nieces would know who is is. I'm not eligible since I'm international. TFS!
