I love Disney's Animal Kingdom. The Animal Kingdom park runs a close second to the Magic Kingdom for me. I love the atmosphere, I love the background music, I love the live broadway type shows that they perform, my boys LOVE Kali River Rapids and literally, usually spend the last 2 hours of our day riding it over and over and over again, but one of the top of the list reasons I really love DAK is because of the character interaction you can find there. Camp Minnie Mickey can get extremely busy and congested for the character meet and greets, especially because it is located at the entrance/exit to the Festival of the Lion King show, but there are so many other, wonderful character meeting places that are usually off the beaten path and could go unnoticed if you don't know where to look. Often the lines are short or non-existent! I love this little spot that we can sometimes find Flik. It is off from the walkway that stretches between Africa and Asia and gives a gorgeous view of the Tree of Life. What better backdrop is there than that? ...and of course I can't ever resist taking the go-to picture of the family in their bug eye glasses before the It's Tough to Be a Bug show!
I cut Flik at 10 1/2" and the leaf with "Bug's Life" on it at 4". The shimmer paper I used for Flik is pearlescent paper by Colorbok, the cardstock is Core'dinations and the background patterened paper is from my stash. I used Stickles on the word "Bug's" and inked the leaf. Mini pop dots are behind Flik to make him stand up off the page a bit.
Going to be keeping myself very busy today and gearing up for a super busy week filled with PTO meeting, Science Fair activities and set up leading up to Thursday's big night and Valentines Day classroom parties! I am going to be so ready for Friday which is our last day of school for 9 days due to our mid-winter break that I cannot wait for! As of right now we have no big plans for that time so I plan to be creating and cranking out some projects I need to get done. We will see how that pans out! Hope you have a splendid Sunday!

I remember that area when we went years ago - when the boys were still little.. hence they will be 18 this year! It was a fun area for little kids. Love the cut! Hope to get that cart some day.
This is fabulous! I love Flik and the colors are great with the shimmer.

Great job on the LO. It's super adorable. I don't remember that spot, probably missed it :( Which is bad for me seeing that I love taking pics of the tree of life from all areas of the park. lol.. and your right about the pics with the glasses, I think they are great. It is actually the profile pic that I have on my blog with my 2 daughters.

What a SUPER layout Melissa, and of course who couldn't love Flik... It sounds like you have a busy busy week ahead. But then 9 days off. Can't wait to hear what you have planned.. hugs
I love those hidden little spots! We filled an autograph book our first day at DAK. I keep telling friends that it's the place to meet your favourite characters without line-ups.
I love this layout! It's so bright and fun!
This makes me smile from ear to ear. Thanks for sharing it with us
