Science Fair 2011

Wow, what a night!  This is absolutely my favorite event of our school year.  I always look forward to the planning, the exploring, the inventing, the discovering...then I start looking forward to it being over! lol  There is so much work that goes into an event like this, but to see all of the hard work pay off is worth every single minute put into it.  The smiles on the kids faces is all that I need to get me ready to work on it again next year!

Here are a few smiles I'd like to share with you....

This is Parker's individual project

This is his AWIM (A World in Motion by General Motors) group project he worked on in school with 3 other classmates.  This is a fantastic program that our school is lucky enough to be a part of!

Here is Tanner's individual project

Tanner wanted to add "China coins" to his board for his Daddy.  He thought it was cool that the magnets wouldn't stick to US coins, but that it would to a coin from China that Jim gave him.  This was his little shout out to his Dad since he's been gone a lot lately to China for work.  I thought it was so sweet that he came up with this idea...and apparently the symbol on the coin stands for "love" which we didn't even know when we did it!  How cool is that?

Here are some other projects from the night...

This is my friend Kaye's daughter's project

These are my friend Shauna's kids, Zach and Alex

These are our friends Joe and Angela's kids, Maria & Joesph's (Parker's best friend) displays

...and just for fun because I know she looks at my blog...
Here is a picture of me taking a picture of my friend Angela!  lol

Here is Tanner participating in a few of the hands on activites...

...and us waiting in line for our liquid nitrogen ice cream with was DELICIOUS!

I cannot begin to put into words what a great night it was!  So proud of our kids and our school!

Your sons had some cool science projects. And kudos to your school for making the science fair such a big deal. That's great!

I'll be helping my daughter with her landmark fair project. She needs to finalize her report and then build a model from scratch on the Leaning Tower of Pisa. We went out last night to all the craft stores (Michaels, Joanns, and Hobby Lobby) to buy everything she needs. I can't wait to see how she puts it together.

Have a good long weekend!
